gitRider

Privacy policy

This policy describes what gitRider stores when you create an account and use the app. It covers your account, email, GPS, and chat.

Account

When you register, gitRider stores your username, email address, and a hash of your password. Your profile can also include a display name, riding skill, privacy choice, language, profile photo, home location, and phone numbers you type for yourself or an emergency contact.

You can delete the account from Profile in the app. Deletion removes the account, profile, garage, rides you own, and chat messages tied to your username. The last remaining administrator account cannot be deleted.

Email

gitRider uses your email address to send account verification and password-reset messages. Those messages contain a link back to the app. The address is not used for advertising.

GPS

While the app is open, gitRider uses your location to show the map, follow a ride, and share your position with people on that ride when location sharing is on. A home location is stored only if you set one on your profile. The app does not collect GPS in the background after you leave it.

Chat

Messages you send in a direct chat or a ride chat are stored and shown to the other person or to the riders on that ride. Deleting your account removes messages tied to your username.

What we do not do

gitRider does not sell account, email, or chat data.
